A 2026 REVIEW:
“theHunter” is a hunting simulation game developed by Expandisove Worlds (originally by its parent company Avalanche Studios).
In 2015, “theHunter: Primal” was released but the game the company is known for is “theHunter: Call of the Wild” released in 2017.
A first person hunting game, the game has a plethora of maps, weapons and many other extra things that make your hunting experience much worthwhile.
With the addition of dogs, these dogs will grow with you in skill but you need to maintain that bond by petting it, playing with your dog and sharing the occasional biscuit. But you need to keep your dog happy!
Because this dog is essential! I own all three but my favorite is the Bloodhound.
Some people like the experience of hunting games where you can hit the animal, but you don’t know where they escaped to. With “theHunter: Call of the Wild”, this dog can be your best friend by tracking those animals. Sniffing the blood and looking for the animal’s carcass or pointing you to the right direction.
Some say their dogs scare off quarry but you can have your dog stay while you walk and prepare for the hunt, and if you need it, whistle.
Another fun thing is even if you travel with your ATV, your dog will follow. Yes, travel by ATV and this dog will travel miles and grow in experience.
But treat this dog like your real dog and show it respect. For every good deed it does, shake its paw, pet its head, give it a biscuit and this dog will make your hunting experience much more worthwhile and less frustrating.
