The One about the MageGee LIGHT87 80% Tri-Mode Creamy Mechanical Keyboard

For today’s mechanical keyboard review, I am checking out the MageGee LIGHT87 80% Tri-Mode Creamy Mechanical Keyboard.

MageGee is a company that makes gaming mechanical keyboards, mouse, headsets and other products and more.

And for this review, I am reviewing the LIGHT87 which is a mechanical keyboard that is tri-mode and wireless (comes with a USB-C cable in white, key cap puller, extra switches and keycaps) and features a 5-layer gasket (which includes IXPE foam pad, PORON foam, diaphragm, EVA soundproofing foam and silicone absorbing pad) for sound dampening. The mechanical keyboard also is hot swappable and is RGB backlit.

The RGB backlit features = 20 built-in backlight modes. There is a switch on the side left to turn off the RGB backlighting. Fn + ←→ adjustable backlit colors, press Fn+ ↑↓ _- =+ can control backlit brightness and speed.

So, for the most part, the MageGee LIGHT87 80% Tri-Mode Creamy Mechanical Keyboard would make for a great beginners mechanical keyboard or those who are looking for a keyboard that they can customize.

The mechanical keyboards come with 87 keys 100% anti-ghosting, unique side printed PBT keycaps.

One thing that makes this different from other MageGee keyboards I have reviewed in the past is that this one comes built with a 8,000 mAh rechargeable battery that lasts for about 53 hours with RGB Backlit ON and 400 hours with RGB Backlight OFF. And you can definitely use this keyboard on PC and Mac.

Now you can order this mechanical keyboard in numerous colors but the version I am reviewing is the “White Black/Ivory Switch” version.  It’s important to note that each of these LIGHT87 keyboards come with an anime picture (on the rear are the instructions).  The ivory switches no doubt gives a thocky sound, which is quite pleasing to the ears.

The keyboard comes with a keycap puller, four extra ivory switches and a USB-C adapter.

But for the most part, this is a solid mechanical keyboard that his hot swappable and gasket mounted. This version I am reviewing is tri-mode. So, it has Bluetooth 5.0 and comes with a 2.8 ghz USB wireless receiver.

But I like the fact that people can utilize this keyboard and easily customize it or just use as is and it makes for a solid mechanical keyboard.

But at under $60, the MageGee LIGHT87 80% Tri-Mode Creamy Mechanical Keyboard is an affordable gasket mounted mechanical keyboard that works very well and has a longer lasting battery making it worthwhile.
