One of the problems I have said many times with today’s modern MP3 players, is that while the technology is there to offer more options, part of the problem that many run into is the lack of memory to run the MP3 files and it’s playlists.
What good is an MP3 player when you have the storage space but not enough memory to allow you to quickly go through playlists?
The ZAQE 4.0″ IPS MP3 Player with Bluetooth and WiFi is an Android 9.0 system with 2GB of Ram and 16GB Rom (and according to ZAQE, has power 8 cores CPU). The response speed is definitely the best I have encountered for an MP3 device and it also comes with a 2000mAh battery and a 4.0 touch screen (with touch screen protector included). Everything charges on USB Type-C cable, wired ear buds and it comes with a 64GB mini SD card.
The device comes in red or light blue and because it’s an Android device, it is compatible with MP3, OGG, FLAC, AAC, WAV, WMA and APE. And for video formats, it supports RM, RMVB, FLV, MP4, DAT, MKV, MPV, MOV, TS and more.
And because it’s an Android device, you can use Apple Music, Spotify, Audible, Amazon Music, Deezer, YouTube, the FM radio app and more. I did try to add a few other apps but some did not work with the device. The main music player is HyByMusic which works easily and you can select your music folder on internal or external storage. And playlist album covers do show and if you listen to J-Pop and K-Pop like myself, the Japanese and Korean title playlists show as well! So, that’s awesome!
For the most part, you are getting like a smartphone but without the dedicated phone service and without the camera. Also, in a smaller size to fit your pocket and giving you more potential with app flexibility.
With that being said, I wouldn’t put any major information on this device. Heck if you can create your own Google account for this device, even better. Mainly because Android 9 received it’s final security updated back in January 2022.
But still, for an MP3 player, this device outshines many of the other MP3 players because of that extra Rom. Avoid MP3 players that show big storage because big storage means nothing if there is not enough memory to select your tracks or view play lists.
The only caveat is the accompanying external 64GB mini SD memory card which is a generic card, you may want to replace this SD memory card with something more reliable.
The ZAQE 4.0″ IPS MP3 Player with Bluetooth and WiFi is no doubt one of the best MP3 players to get on Amazon. Too many MP3 players with high storage that left me feeling upset that there isn’t enough memory to cycle through many tracks. My feeling is if you are going to give a lot of storage, provide the memory enough to search through songs and playlists with ease! The ZAQE does just that!
