As an avid Oculus Quest 2 user, I review many accessories and test many accessories. There is always concern that certain cables do not work for the Oculus Quest 2 and you will see it in reviews or on YouTube and so, what best than to find out for myself, with so third-party accessories on the market.
The latest cable I am testing is the Ziidoog Oculus Quest Link 16 ft. Cable and at under $9, is probably one of the cheaper 16 ft. USB-C cables to find.
I was able to connect to my computer via a USB 3.0 port, may it be to transfer files, may it be to access Steam VR, may it be to be in one room to charge and if anything, long enough to reach farther areas, while being on a VR-related chat and not worry about my Oculus dying from battery power.
In fact, I have been utilizing this cable to hook up directly to my main computer with no problems. In fact, I also tested this cable on my powered USB 3.0 hub and it worked perfectly.
It’s important to note that the Oculus Quest 2 that I am utilizing is the one released in August 2021 and software has been updated, and tested on Windows 10 Pro, version 21H1.
With that being said, and while everything worked well, I did have a problem. I noticed the metal USB-C connector has bent and I worry that it may come out of its rubber holder. Perhaps the adhesive is coming out or just my cable, but I pushed the metal USB-C connection back in, but we’ll see how things go overtime. It it fails or breaks off, I will update this review.
So, I put the Ziidoog Oculus Quest Link 16 ft. Cable on the safe list for the Oculus Quest 2. It worked for me and it’s one of the cheapest 16 ft. cables to find for your Oculus Quest/Quest 2.
