The One about the RedThunder K55 Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

When it comes to budget gaming keyboards, the RedThunder brand is slowly becoming among my top 5 budget gaming brands because they have been consistently getting better and better.

For this latest review, I’m checking out the RedThunder K55 Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, a full-sized 104-key keyboard with silent red switches.

It comes with a wrist rest and also features an RGB Backlight (20 backlight modes and 8 light colors), full keys anti-ghosting and dedicated media control.

Some companies tend to bump up the price to near 50’s because they offer a multimedia control, but the K55 features a knob, when pressed, you can cycle through various lighting modes and colors.

You can easily go back or forward if you have your music playing or play/pause. If anything, I like the fact that RedThunder makes it simple for the user.

The detachable leather wrist-rest is a good addition for those who want a keyboard to work/game but also for ergonomic purposes.

For the most part, this is a mechanical keyboard for those who want a standard 104-key keyboard for gaming/work, has LED lighting, ergonomic and multimedia control and it’s under $30.

Personally, I ditch the wrist rest, these switches are not hot swappable but for the most part, what the RedThunder mechanical keyboards add is value.

Again, I see this mechanical keyboard as a compromise of gaming/work keyboard. Is it the best I have tested, no. But for under $30, with a multimedia controller, I like the fact that RedThunder keeps the price low and not jacks the price up like other companies.

The RedThunder K55 Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is more for the budget gamer who wants an all-purpose gaming keyboard, for gaming, for work, needing that ten-key and more. The keys strokes are on point, saw no lagging or any major issues. The LED lights are appropriate and not an eyestrain compared to those who make it really bright.

And for under $30, I do recommend it!
