The One about the Zacro External DVD Drive

As there are more and more PC’s and laptops no longer having a DVD drive, many people now have to purchase an external DVD.  For one, to listen or convert their CD’s to digital, create backup discs with important files, may it be documents, videos, photos or watch DVD movies or create training videos.

So, if you are going to want one, you’ll want one that will have a USB and for many people with a newer PC/laptop, a USB-C connection.

The Zacro External DVD Drive is pretty cool because while it has a USB-C connection, it is also a USB 3.0, DVD+/- Optical Drive (probably not so important these days but back then, DVD players were so fickle in the old days of being + or -) and can work with Windows and Mac’s.

I’ve used the device to watch DVD’s but also to convert my CD audio to MP3’s, so I can listen to it on USB in my car.

But there is one thing that makes the Zacro External DVD Drive so different from other drives is that along with the two USB ports, it also has a micro USB port, an SD slot and a TF slot.  So, you can burn your data onto discs by dragging files to the DVD drive.

But the best part is that it’s under $25!

If there is one important thing to mention, the drive requires to be in a powered USB port.  This drive will not work on an unpowered hub.  You can tell is that while it looks it’s powered with the green light blinking in the front, it won’t open the DVD tray.  So, once you put it into a powered USB hub or port, the DVD player will then open.

If anything, it’s plug and play, easy to use and inexpensive!

The Zacro External DVD Drive is recommended!
