If one is going to visit the Pokemon Cafe, you might as well visit the adjoining Pokemon Center Tokyo DX.
I’ve written about the Pokemon Center Mega Tokyo Store in Ikebukuro, but the Pokemon Center Tokyo DX is no doubt a great location for Pokemon fans because it’s where the only Pokemon Cafe in Tokyo is located at the Nihonbashi Takashimaya department store (fifth floor) but it’s kind of a hidden area, so please use Google Maps to find it. It can get a bit confusing.
While I’ll let the pictures speak for what the store has to offer, if you were to ask me the biggest difference between this and the Mega Tokyo Store, the Mega Tokyo Store is bigger and offers a large assortment of Pokemon merchandise of different varieties. While the Pokemon Center Tokyo DX store offers the most variety of Pikachu merchandise that are not at the Mega Tokyo Store.
Needless to say, if you are a Pokemon fan, definitely visit both stores.
I visited the store about two weeks after the grand opening of the Pokemon Cafe. But if I have one advice for travelers, just make sure you have the space in your luggage or carryon (and don’t go over the weight limit) of your air carrier’s weight limit.
