Once you open the box, you will notice the fishing line cutter along with an integrated carabiner that can extend up to 22 inches. The retractor is made with zinc alloy and is corrosion resistant.
As for the fishing line cutter, this is a device that can cut through braid, monofilament and fluoro. But you may say, “I have scissors that can do the same for much less”.
Well, along with the cutter, the other end has a hook eye cleaner tool to remove glue and paint from hook eyes, a split ring opener, there is also a built-in hook sharpener and there is a safety lock.
For the most part, you get a multi-tool that does more than just cutting lines. And rarely do you find devices that have a built-in sharpener.
At under $27, it may seem pricey but do know that HOOK-EZE releases high-quality products. I have tested and used several products and they are useful and well-made!
