When it comes to jig heads, people are used to using smaller jig heads (ie. Round Shakey Head), typically 1/32, 1/16 and 1/8 oz. Typically the smaller the jig head hook, the better.
But that’s for smaller, freshwater fish.
For those bigger fish, especially in the ocean, fish like the barramundi and possibly a red snapper, will like the larger rig.
But I’m a believer in experimentation and what works for one angler, may not work for you. It comes with the territory of fishing, you learn but you also put in your own style and do what you feel works for you.
This is a 1/2 oz. Jig Head, so that round head is heavier but you still have a size 4 hook that definitely will hook up huge beasts!
