The One about the [Hida Takayama, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture] Gather at the Shinhotaka Ropeway’s Summit Forest on Mountain Day! Outdoor event “Hida Outdoor Deep #02” will be held! – August 10-11

The outdoor event “Hida Outdoor Deep #02” will be held on August 10th (Mon) and 11th (Tue, public holiday) at the Shinhotaka Ropeway Nishihotakaguchi Station and Itadaki no Mori (Kamisaka, Okuhida Onsenkyo, Takayama City)! This event offers a “deep” outdoor experience while enjoying the spectacular views of the Alps, with various workshops to experience in the forest and gourmet food to cool off. Admission is free (parking and ropeway fees are charged separately), the event will proceed in light rain, but will be canceled in case of severe weather.

The event aims to “showcase the diverse ways and appeals of the outdoors,” offering not only classic outdoor activities like camping and fishing, but also more niche outdoor activities such as climbing, lichens, medicinal herbs, and game meat. This year marks the 6th annual “Hida Outdoor Freak,” an event organized by the same group, and it has become a regular fixture. This year’s “Hida Outdoor Deep” is based on the concept of providing a deeper (more in-depth) experience than “Hida Outdoor Freak,” and this will be its second event.

This year’s venue will be a first in the event’s history! It will be held at Nishihotakaguchi Station/Itadaki-no-Mori. Located at an altitude of 2,156m, with an average temperature of 18℃ even in midsummer, the venue will offer a variety of outdoor experiences related to “coolness” while you enjoy the spectacular view surrounded by the Alps.

Project leader Jun Takemoto said, “My wish to plan an event at the summit of Mount Shin-Hotaka has come true. I hope that not only tourists, but also locals will take this opportunity to enjoy the spectacular views of Shin-Hotaka.”

To help you enjoy the coolness, we plan to offer various experiences such as smoked ice cream making, craft gin making, wood burning portraits, making insect repellent spray using aromatherapy, and a stamp rally.

Additionally, a solo acoustic concert by local musician “Trilogy Hojo Kosuke” has been confirmed for the venue! Refreshing music will fill the venue.

Furthermore, numerous food vendors have confirmed their participation. Four establishments are scheduled to participate: “Hidamori Cafe,” “Hanchikutei,” “Terada Farm,” and “Shinhotaka Ropeway.” You can enjoy craft cola and crepes made with natural and outdoor-related ingredients, as well as summer delicacies such as chilled tomatoes and curry, all while overlooking the Alps. Exclusive merchandise will also be available for purchase!
