When I came upon the 20pcs Lure Blanks Unpainted Crainkbaits, I couldn’t help but be happy.
Well, for one it’s transparent and it’s for the creative types who want to paint their own crankbait, but I always wanted to try out a transparent lure and what best than kit of transparent crankbaits.
The other thing that made me feel a bit giddy is that it resembles my S-Crank 2.0 without the two vertical lines, but it has the square bill which helps reduce hang-ups and allows precise targeting. The blank crankbait has steel balls inside, so it does make noise. They are also made with clear ABS construction and are coated to prevent water leakage.
It doesn’t come with any metal rings or treble hooks or hooks in general, but that’s fine with me as I rather use a single hook versus a treble hook at times.
But the other benefit is to see how a clear crankbait would work in high light environment but also reflecting the actual colors of the surrounding water and structure. So, with the clear translucent body, it should create a subtle, shimmer like shad.
It’s important to note that translucent crankbaits work better on clear water on bright day, not in the morning or evening. If you choose to fish these, just remember that the sun plays a part in making these transparent crankbait work, even in stained water.
These are well-made but again, no paint, no rings, no hooks, just the transparent crankbaits themselves (20 total) for under $17.50.
Definitely worth a try in your next fishing trip, especially during the spring, summer or fall when the sun is out! And if these can emit a flash or shimmer, you’ll probably get hits from fish!
