Honda will launch a sporty, compact electric vehicle (EV) on the 22nd. Depending on local government subsidies, it may be possible to purchase it for less than half price. Honda’s “Super One,” which will be released on the 22nd, is a sporty, compact EV based on the light EV released last year.
When the newly developed “Boost Mode” is turned on, the meter display changes, engine sounds are played from the in-car speakers, and the vibrations of gear changes are reproduced.
The price is approximately 3.39 million yen, but with national and local government subsidies, it can be purchased for around 1.5 million yen in some regions. Pre-orders have reached approximately 7,000 units, exceeding initial expectations. It will also be released in the UK, Southeast Asia, and Oceania within the next year. Honda has announced a review of its EV strategy, but intends to continue development with an eye on the future. [TV Asahi NEWS]
