Taxi fares were raised in the Tama area of Tokyo starting on the 16th. The affected areas include Chofu City, Tachikawa City, and Hachioji City.
The initial fare of 500 yen, which was previously based on 1.091 kilometers, will now be shortened to 1 kilometer. Furthermore, the interval at which the meter increases will be shortened from every 233 meters to every 211 meters.
In addition to the 23 wards of Tokyo, fare increases are also expected in Musashino City and Mitaka City this spring. This is the first fare revision in approximately three years, since October 2022.
