As spring, the season of encounters and farewells, truly begins, there was also a farewell at JR Okayama Station for the 115 series G Formation Shokupan Train which will be going through a timetable revision.

Soichiro Oga (58), a civil servant who came from Nagao, Tamano City, said, “I wanted to express my gratitude and say goodbye to the train that I have grown attached to and used for many years. Thank you for your service.”

The 115 series was originally operated as a three-car train, but in 2001 it was modified to accommodate one-man operation with two-car trains, resulting in its current appearance. The 115 series trains, which previously operated on the entire Hakubi Line, as well as the Sanyo and Ako Lines, will be replaced by the new “227 series (nicknamed Urara)” trains in the timetable revision on the 14th due to their aging condition.
