The One about the Redragon K617 FIZZ 60% Rapid Trigger 8K Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

I have reviewed Redragon mechanical keyboards and I was able to see the level of progression from the company, best known for creating quality but yet budget-friendly mechanical keyboards, I wanted to see where the company would take their products to the next level for the middle-budget gamer.

And this leads me to one of the company’s bigger, more technologically advanced mechanical keyboards and that is the Redragon K617 FIZZ 60% Rapid Trigger 8K Mechanical Gaming Keyboard.

So, one thing that people should know about this keyboard is that it’s small at 60% with only 61 keys. This gaming keyboard is for those who want a dedicated mechanical keyboard that utilizes less space and less hassle. And for some gamers, 61 keys (and some less) is all that they need.

The mechanical keyboard is 8K which is becoming the trend of 2024, which is 8,000 Hz hyper-polling response (as most mechanical keyboards are 1,000 Hz). Now its debatable if 8K is a gimmick and if anyone would truly notice it. But through my tests, the keyboard has been ultra responsive and it’s important to note that I do game in wired for low latency and the USB-A to USB-C cable provided is supposedly inputting up to 8x faster (0.125ms low latency).

It utilizes a Hall magnetic switch with rapid trigger ON via software, where the actuation point can be 0.1 mm precision adjusted (between 0.1-4.00 mm), so the 40-layer actuation point combined with dynamic activation/deactivation defines your tap/kill.

So, what is a magnetic switch?  Well, according to Redragon, it eliminates the physical input delay and offers 10x fast and 2x longer lifespan, so in other words, if you are a gamer who hates delay, then this mechanical keyboard is for you!

The software can be downloaded through the official Redragon website.

The software allows the gamer to choose a specific key in which they can turn on “Quick Trigger”.

So, the software really allows you to customize that rapid trigger. Again, choose a key and you can set it to your gaming desire! The software also allows you to customize your LED lightening, brightness and speed, setting Senior Keys, which comes useful if you want to turn off the rapid trigger. Also, setting macro keys and also disabling certain keys if WIN LOCK is on and more.

If anything, while smaller keyboards aren’t for everyone.  Some gamers prefer it, some don’t.  Some have multiple keyboards for different game preferences.

Also, the keyboard is a bit more clickety clack blue switch style of loudness that may not be for everyone.  But the goal with this keyboard is low latency, no delay and of course, gamers who need rapid trigger.

For me, I feel that Redragon has set the bar higher with the Redragon K617 FIZZ 60% Rapid Trigger 8K Mechanical Gaming Keyboard.  I’m quite impressed and the fact that they were able to keep an 8K keyboard under $57 and not charge excessively for the feature is awesome!

No doubt one of the best Redragon mechanical keyboards that I have reviewed, especially for a 61 key 60% mechanical keyboard in general.  I highly recommend it!
