I feel that it’s an appropriate holiday film for those who dislike the holidays but finding themselves in a position of loving it. And for that, I give “Single and Ready to Jingle” a thumbs up!

It’s Christmas Day and for the 55th film for my holiday marathon, the next film I’m watching is titled “Single and Ready to Jingle” directed by Wendy Ord and written by Brian Ruberry.
The film stars Natasha Wilson (“UnREAL”, “Date My Dad”), Edward Ruttle (“Hot Tube Time Machine”, “Arctic Air”, “Good Witch”), Eva Tavares (“Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies”, “Love Served Here”), Crystal Tisiga (“Tribal”, “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”).
The film revolves around Emma Warner (portrayed by Natasha Wilson), an Senior VP of Tinsel Toys, who has tried to beat the wooden toy “Buddy Build It” for years during the holidays, but no matter how hard she tried, she has come in second place with her latest toyline “K-Pop Panda” which was successful but not enough to beat her competitor.
Always striving hard to meet sales goals and so much planned during the holidays, Emma is tired of all the Christmas celebrations during the holidays that she needs to take a break and get out. So, her assistant Lucy (portrayed by Merry Lou Proudfoot) books her vacation during the holidays to St. John’s Singles Resort.
But while Emma is decked out for the warm weather and beaches of St. John’s in the Caribbean, she ends up going to St. John, Alaska. Where it’s freezing cold (she didn’t bring winter clothes), the snow is intense and getting flights are difficult and is being laughed at the locals (because she’s not dressed for the winter). Especially to Connor (portrayed by Edward Ruttle) who takes her to the singles resort.
While staying and stuck at the resort, despite disliking Christmas, she ends up spending time with Connor who shows her around St. John, Alaska. And as the two grow closer, Connor has another life which Emma is not aware about.
For a holiday film “Single and Ready to Jingle” is for those who are wanting a romantic comedy. In fact, it is a bit slapstick comedy with actress Natasha Wilson showing a comedic side with her slips and falls and facial gestures, kind of reminds of Lucille Ball and “I Love Lucy” in some ways. In fact, because of that, it made me enjoy this holiday romcom even more despite the dream-like story.
But for the most part, I feel that it’s an appropriate holiday film for those who dislike the holidays but finding themselves in a position of loving it. And for that, I give “Single and Ready to Jingle” a thumbs up!
