The One about the Hot Wheels Liberty Walk Silhouette Nissan Silvia (S15)

Liberty Walk, one of the biggest names in the world when it comes to automotive tuning.

Started by Kato Wataru, the Japanese business is known for taking original cars and crafting unique versions from body kits to small customizable works, may it be the spoilers, the side skirts, bumpers, you name it. They’ve done some wicked craftmanship beloved by many.

So, for many Hot Wheels fans, it has been a sheer pleasure to have Liberty Walk releases in the main standard line.

The Hot Wheels Liberty Walk Silhouette Nissan Silvia (S15) was designed by the late Ryu Asada back in 2022. The body kit designed by Liberty Walk featured a front bumper, rear bumper and diffuser, rear wing, wide fenders and side skirts and also a new hood and trunk and this LIberty Walk Silhouette kit is available for purchase for about $25,135 US.

As for the Nissan Silvia S15, this 1999 release featured a Silvia styling upgrade.  It complies with Japanese Government compact class specs and those wanting a rear wing would opt for a Spec-S or Spec-R.  While sold primarily in Japan, Australia and New Zealand got a version rebranded as a Nissan 200SX.

But what makes the Nissan Silvia S15 special was the fact this is the final Silvia vehicle to have the Silvia name and Nissan’s last sports car to feature a true FR (front engine, realwheel drive) layout.  Nissan has since focused on its Nissan Skyline and Fairlady Z.

Of course, for those of you who can’t afford or has no access to a Silhouette Nissan Silvia, let alone anything Liberty Walk, at least can own the diecast metal version of the vehicle.

The yellow/black versions and white/black versions were released as part of HW Turbo back in 2022.  While in 2023, a black version and red Target exclusive version were released.  And most recently, a matte gold version.

This is such a beautiful vehicle that I love the molding that went into this.  The detail is impressive as you can see the black grill right in the center of all that gold metallic paint.  Clear headlights, the tampos are well-balanced and not misaligned and the paint is good (not perfect, but very good).

I like this version even much better paint and tampos compared to the 2022 releases.

As part of the HW Modified series (1/5), the 2023 releases have been fantastic and this is where I applaud Mattel Hot Wheels when it adds so many details in a main line release and gives it a lot of love (unlike some of their other luxury sport car releases which I have been critical in the past).

Of course, the problem is finding one.  The good news is that collectors are so busy looking for Skyline’s and Honda Civic’s that they may pass on the Silvia’s.  But for JDM fans, I’ve said it many times before and Silvia’s are one of the classics that you should never bypass as a collector for any line.  Tomica, Hot Wheels, etc., as they are highly collectible.

If you are looking for a well-made Silhouette Nissan Silvia, the Hot Wheels Liberty Walk Silhouette Nissan Silvia (S15) is highly recommended!
