The One about the Tomica No. 1 Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR34) Patrol Car

Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo and a location of many people who want to live outside of Tokyo to get away from the busy city life and to find more affordable areas to live but yet not too far if you work in Tokyo.

Saitama Prefecture is known for their Nissan “Skyline GT-R”, Mazda “RX-7” and Toyota “Crown patrol cars.

And today, I am reviewing the the Tomica No. 1 Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR34) Patrol Car (you can see the actual vehicle in real life here).

What makes Saitama Skyline GT-R vehicles a bit unique other than the “Saitama Prefecture” and “Police” on the side (Note: You will need to read the kanji from right to left).

For those not familiar with Tomica and Patrol Cars, Tomica has a long history of releasing police cars since the ’70s.  There are probably hundreds of patrol cars but fortunately, no old model was used.  This is a brand new molding to replicate the patrol car from Saitama Prefecture that includes the transparent bug screen/guard on the hood.

Surprisingly, it appears the mold was taken from the Tomica Premium BNR34 GT-R but the mold was then used to make a patrol car and another variation with a different color and wheels that would make it work for the main Tomica line.

Featuring transparent headlight lamps and transparent bug screen with mounting bracket.  The whole front grill, bumper and fog lights are well produced.

On the roof is 854 for the Misato garrison and a car active on expressways such as Tohoku Expressway (E4) and the Kan-Etsu Expressway (E17). I have to say that the wheels are much different than what you are used to seeing, but it does work.

Doors and trunk does not open, but the car does feature suspension.

If anything, this is such a great deal if you can find one.  Amazon Japan does sell this vehicle via blister package and the price is under 500 yen (which is amazing for a Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR34) Patrol Car), so you can literally purchase a few if you want.

The Tomica No. 1 Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR34) V-spec II Patrol Car is highly recommended!
