For those who are new to pickleball and want to pick up an set, check out the VATID Pickleball Paddle Set.
I am not familiar with Vatid but I do know that their paddle is listed as USA Pickleball approved on the USApickleball.org website.
Pickleball has become the fastest growing sport in America (4.8 million players nationwide), growing nearly 40% between 2019 and 2021 and it’s also quickly growing worldwide.
As there were a few Pickleball companies in the beginning, with a few dozen to now over a thousand.
And Vatid has various paddles in the market. The VATID Pickleball Paddle Set comes with two paddles, grip tape, four 40-hole outdoor yellow balls and two indoor 26-hole orange balls.
First, let’s talk about the bag. The bag is a smaller gray bag that will hold the paddles and a mesh pocket to hold extra balls for $100.
The paddle features a black edge border, with the V Performance logo in white and orange on black/gray. The black non-slip grip is a comfortable grip with a ridge (aka high tack contoured surface).
Paddle specs are 15.75″ H x 7.8″ W. The weight is about 7.8 oz and features a grip length of 4.9 inches. So, it’s a standard sized pickleball paddle.
The paddle features a thicker polypropylene honeycomb core at 14mm and a carbon fiber surface.
I will say this is one of the pricier pickleball sets for beginners. You can get the set in three forms, V Shape, E Shape or American Flag, all three are under $100.
But the difference is while some offer a polypropylene honeycomb core, many of the sets offer a graphite surface, this one features a carbon fiber surface. The difference between carbon fiber surface vs. graphite, is that carbon fiber gives more ball control, put you lose a little power. The surface is much softer than graphite. And slightly cost a bit more than graphite surfaces.
I have no complaints as this is a cool looking design and you do get six balls, grip tape and a small bag enough to fit both paddles and balls through the mesh outside pocket.
But if you are a beginner and looking for a set with a carbon fiber surface as opposed to a graphite surface, then you may want to give the VATID Pickleball Paddle Set a try!
