When it comes to devices to have in the house for health-related reasons, one should have an Oximeter along with a thermometer and also a way to take blood pressure in their home. I feel these are important.
So, how does an oximeter work? Quite easy, just put your finger in a slot and the device can detect the efficiency of oxygen in one’s blood and also small changes.
This time I am reviewing the Smart Guesser Fingertip Pulse Oximeter (PC-60F).
This device utilizes two AAA batteries (included).
The device is great for healthy, sports enthusiasts or those who have gotten sick or taking new medication and want to measure their SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation levels), and pulse rate with a bar graph plus a perfusion index.
But just put your finger in, click on the button to turn it on and just keep it in there for a mount 30 seconds to a minute or more to monitor your pulse and oxygen saturation. It’s easy to use. This one actually beeps after a minute or so and it presents you teh record.
The screen is easy to read thanks to the device’s OLED display.The oximeter screen displays data with 2 colors and in 4 directions.
Now one thing I have to emphasize, I’ve tried different Oximeters and many are close to each other, most often not the same. In fact, if I had five oximeters, I would get five different readings. So, if they are close to each other, that’s good. If one is too far from the others in reading, then probably not good. So, oximeters…there really is no accurate one and best to have another to ensure that it’s correct or similar to each other. But it’s always said that oximeters tend to produce a 2% difference (+/-). 95% is normal but if lower than 92%, it’s something to keep an eye on and also possibly contact your physician.
I will say that I do have two Smart Guesser Oximeters and both were exactly the same. Compared it to a non-Smart Guesser Oximeter and they were also very similar.
But is this the Smart Guesser Fingertip Pulse Oximeter to get? The Smart Guesser Fingertip Pulse Oximeter (PC-60F) is much better because it knows when to stop (you get a beep) and gives you the final results, other Smart Guesser oximeters may not.
The pulse oximeter stores up 12 groups of data and if anything, it’s quite easy to use.
Overall, I do recommend the Smart Guesser Fingertip Pulse Oximeter (PC-60F), its inexpensive and probably among the better oximeters released from Smart Guesser in the $20 range.
