The One about the GunMjo Pro Custom Coiled USB C Aviator Cable (for Mechanical Keyboards)

As a person who reviews a lot of mechanical keyboards of varying price ranges, many have asked me to review aviator cables.

So, you may be wondering “what the heck is that?”.

Well, aviator cables are known for reducing wear on USB ports, if you switch keyboards often. They are either braided or a thicker gauge than the standard keyboard cable, all with the their different prices and some that are really awesome and well-made and some that sound like they are well-made but are complete duds.

For today’s review, I am reviewing the GunMjo Pro Custom Coiled USB C Aviator Cable (for Mechanical Keyboards). The cable is made of high quality brass and has a quick detachable connector, so one can quickly switch cables for their keyboard or other accessories without having to pull out the USB part from the port.

The coil is made of professional reversed coil that prevents damage from overstretching.

Which is great because as you guys know, I have many dozens of gaming mechanical keyboards that I have to constantly plug and unplug and it helps to switch out easily using an aviator cable right?

The answer is not so fast.

Not all aviator cables are built the same. The connectors can be different. Depending on which direction you want to go, stick to that. Do you want to go with the coiled metal aviator connector (which most have), then this the best decision. If you want to go to a slimmer aviator connection, good luck finding many cables with that type of connection.

Otherwise, you will be buying the same slim aviator connection from GunMjo which is priced about $45, while their line of metal aviator cables range from $25.99-$34.99 (which would work with other companies metal aviator cables).

It’s important that I emphasize that this Gunmjo cable uses a slimmer type of Aviator connection that won’t work with other metal aviator connections but Gunmjo slim connectors which is a bummer.

Nevertheless, mine came in with no damage. I was able get the connections on, connect them to my mechanical keyboard and other end to my USB port and it’s good to go!

It’s a very good aviator cable, it’s just that you are going to be limited by connection because not many other third party cables can connect to it.

And just because it’s a slim connection, I think its price at $45 for a cable is a tad bit pricey but it works as intended!
