I’ve reviewed numerous Quest 2 headsets, but today I am going to review one that has become popular and mention on various Quest 2 forums on social media and that’s the KKCOBVR Q2 Battery Head Strap.
Now, when it comes to these head straps. I prioritize comfort more than anything.
I’ve gone through many headstraps trying to look for the best comfort. One that doesn’t put pressure and hurt your scalp to one that it is not too difficult to get setup.
But comfort is important for me, but seeing that this headset allows for a battery backup. This is interesting, because prior battery backups for the Quest 2 have involved connecting a rechargeable battery with a USB-C connection to the side of the Quest 2.
This headset has two rechargeable batteries (5200 mAh) that can be charged via USB-C and then if your headset happens to die, you can plug in the strap’s USB-C cable to the side to give your headset an additional charge.
This is ideal if you want to get an extra 2-3 hours.
For those concerned if there is a health-related risk from the battery pack, from what I read, batteries do not emit EMF radiation but as always, one’s concern should be the device (Oculus Quest 2) itself (which is debatable).
Now this headset is easy to put on your Quest 2. It features a snappable arms. So, no problems attaching it or removing it.
As for comfort, I like how it feels. No pressure on the scalp as you can see from the photo, it’s like two pads and even the rear area in contact with the back of your head, it’s not shaped in a way that adds too much pressure.
If anything, I really like the feel of this headstrap. I already have a favorite for comfort, but this may be my new favorite (and this having reviewed nearly a dozen headstraps for the Quest2).
At under $60, the price is not too bad considering it has a battery pack. But for the comfort alone and the functionality, I really do like the KKCOBVR Q2 Battery Head Strap for the Quest 2 a lot. I can see why people have been raving about it!
