The One about Tokyu Store – A place where I get muscat grapes from Yamanishi Prefecture

If you travel Japan, you will often see the names of “Tokyu”.

May it be Tokyu Railways, Tokyu Hands (popular for products unique to Japan), the Tokyu Department Store and there is Tokyu Store.  All this is part of the huge Tokyu Corporation.

As for Tokyu Store, this is the equivalent to a local supermarket that many would have in their local area, but Tokyo Store sells meats, vegetables, fruits, delicatessen products, apparels, sundries, and living related products.

In addition, the Tokyu Store Chain also offers home-delivery and printing services.

I personally like to visit this grocery store when I’m in Naka-meguro to try the fruits in season.

May it be Muscat grapes from Koshu in Yamanishi Prefecture or the Peaches from Ibaraki Prefecture.

I think some people may be shocked when they buy grapes because grapes are more expensive compared to the $3 (US) at an American supermarket.  In Japan, for these Yamanishi Prefecture grapes, they are Y1,980 (about $19 US) with less quantity at Tokyu Store.

But in truth, Muscat grapes from Yamanishi can cost from $60-$100 US, so these Y1,980 is actually considered a good deal. Granted, at Yamanishi Prefecture, you will see local shops selling them for significantly cheaper.
