The One about Kanmi Sabo Kasuga in Kawagoe, Saitama

Located in Kawagoe, Saitama is a restaurant known as Kanmi Sabo Kasuga that serves Imo Somen, a specialty of Kawagoe and the only restaurant in the world that specializes in the cuisine.

Imo is sweet potatoes, a specialty of Kawagoe!

Built in a 120-year-old warehouse that was renovated, because I was trying many eateries throughout Kawagoe, I can only eat another delicacy that is popular from the restaurant and that is their Kawagoe Dango.

Immediately, you know how popular the location is with the photos of celebrities who ate at the location.

There is so much being offered at this restaurant that I will need to visit the location again! But as mentioned, I was there for the Kawagoe Dango!

Dango is typically a Japanese dumpling made from rice flour mixed with uruchi rice flour and glutinous rice flour and around three to five dango are grilled and served on a skewer.

In the case of Kawagoe Dango, Imo is the primary component with 100% Joshinko  soy-sauce and grilled on then put on a skewer and sold for Y100.

It’s inexpensive but they do sell out quickly.

While I can’t fully review the restaurant, I will say that the Kawagoe Dango at Kanmi Sabo Kasuga is quite delicious and worth trying!
