Each time I visit an area, I like the to try the local cuisine and snacks.
And I happen to pass by a restaurant in Kawagoe, Saitama known as Kanon which was serving Takosen, which they call it a sandwich featuring takoyaki inside a shrimp cracker (Akasi pancake).
I absolutely love takoyaki (fried dumplings which have small pieces of octopus covered with a delicious, savory sauce, mayonnaise, seaweed and dried bonito fish flakes.
But it’s an interesting concept for Takosen, by putting a takoyaki dumpling between two shrimp (or rice crackers – senbei).
It’s absolutely delicious and inexpensive.
It’s important to note that Takosen is not limited to Kawagoe, but you can find it in Osaka and other areas that possibly serve takoyaki.
But definitely worth giving a try!
