The One about the ALLSUN UV Sanitizer EPA Certificated Clean Light Wand

You probably have seen it on the news of how certain entries to various locations now have UV Sanitizing lights which people go through.

UV Technology for germ sanitizing is now in portable devices such as this light wand featuring UV in three wavelength categories: UV-A, UV-B and UV-C.  UV-C is a short-wavelength that can break apart germ DNA, rendering these germ DNA from functioning or reproducing.

The ALLSUN UV Sanitizer EPA Certificated Clean Light Wand which comes with eight UV-C LED’s can be recharged via USB (as it contains an 1800mAh USB rechargeable battery) and has an on and off button.  Hold it for three seconds to turn it on, wait two minutes later and the light will turn off.

The idea is to wave the wand on an object over and over with the wand and probably with a dozen or more passes with the wand, it helps stop these germ DNA.

But here is the biggest thing that one should be warned.  UV light can be dangerous and YOU NEVER want to aim this in your eyes.  In fact, you do not want your children getting a hold of this.

As you know, the sun gives off UV rays and looking at the sun can harm your vision and can cause eye issues.  UV-A rays can cause damage to your central vision.  UV-B rays can damage the cornea and lends of the front of your eye. UV-C on human skin can cause painful burns for lengthy exposure (some studies have show direct UV-C radiation to skin for a long period of time can cause cancer) but it can cause temporary damage to the cornea and is a known carcinogen for human skin.

So, please do your research on UV-C.  Even the device has a sticker label requesting people to wear goggles before using this wand and to not have the light aimed in your eyes or skin.

While I’m sure this device works, it depends on how many passes are needed.  There is no way one can tell if it’s working or not.  Especially if one does a few passes via the wand.

The ALLSUN UV Sanitizer EPA Certificated Clean Light Wand is a device that one can’t confirm its efficacy.  How many passes?  A dozen times? Two dozen times?  Three dozen times to be effective?  Can anyone truly know?

But just know that before using this device, do your research on UV-C and know that the makers of this device request for people to wear goggles and warn to be careful of aiming it towards the eye or skin.  And definitely keep this away from a child’s reach.
