The One about the Last JR East trains to depart earlier in the Tokyo metro area starting on January 20th

East Japan Railway Co. (JR East) announced that the last trains of the day will depart earlier starting on January 20th to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus in which numbers have surged in Japan.

It is expected that other railway companies will follow JR East.

In addition, JR East will suspend 42 trains on the weekdays, 40 trains on Saturday and holidays for eleven lines which will bring departure times of the last trains by 8 to 32 minutes.

Yamanote, Chuo, Keihin Tohoku and Keiyo Lines will be affected and the suspension will last through February 7th, the same day the State of Emergency is set to expire.
