For this review of the the ROCCAT Burst Pro White Extreme Lightweight Optical Pro Gaming Mouse, my son Christian is the primary reviewer.
Preface: My hand size is 18 x 8.75 cm. I use claw grip.
Mice that I have used before:
Logitech G305
Glorious Model O
Cooler Master MM710
Razer Deathadder V2
Shape Weight/Grip
Dimensions (cm) – 120 x 67 x 38
Weight – 68g
The mouse has an ambidextrous shape, very much similar to that of the Endgame Gear XM1. It’s a medium-sized mouse, and is good for what I’d consider medium sized hands (17-19 cm). From my usage, the mouse is fantastic when used with a claw grip, but is also possible to be used with fingertips. I wouldn’t recommend you use palm grip with this mouse (or any other mouse).
You can’t feel the honey-comb holes as they are internal, and so you won’t feel them.
Mouse Buttons
Mouse 1 and 2 have no pre-travel nor post-travel. Neither have button wobble, either.
The mouse uses Roccat’s new Titan optical switches, which remove common double click issues. The switches feel thick and heavy. They are similar to the optical switches that Razer is currently using, but feel less dull. They are pretty good.
Side buttons are large and hard to miss, and are positioned well.
The scroll wheel has distinct steps that you can feel. It works.
Mouse Feet
These are god-tier, endgame mouse feet. There are two, large mouse feet on the bottom that are made of heat-treated PTFE. They are slightly translucent, and I’ve not seen mousefeet like these before. The box comes with a set of extra mouse feet as well, which is always a great bonus.
Cable
A really good stock cable. Better than the updated Model O cable, and very similar to the cord on the Deathadder V2. Use it with a bungee and you won’t have issues.
Software
It works and looks good, and isn’t annoying. There’s a lot to customize here, with advanced options such as double-click speed, polling rate, LoD, DPI, RGB, etc.
RGB
The RGB is internal and shines through the semi translucent outer shell. It’s unique and looks cool, but I personally keep it off.
Conclusion
Extremely good mouse for those who use claw grip. Good specs, lightweight, feels great, and looks great. It comes at a good competitive price point at only $59.99, and you won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for a claw-grip mouse.
