Today I am reviewing the CNBLUE Soprano Recorder (German Style) and is an inexpensive recorder for under $8!
The recorder comes in three pieces and comes with a fabric bag and a flute wiper.
For those who are not familiar with what a recorder is, it’s a woodwind musical instrument with seven finger holes and are sold as sopranissimo, sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, bajo and grand bajo and are primarily made from wood, ivory or plastic.
The recorder has been used since the middle ages and popular during the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
This version that you often see for sale are German Style and Baroque Style. Towards the bottom above the two hole area is a large hole for Baroque, while the German style has a smaller hole (or the fourth hole smaller for the Baroque and bigger for the German style). I read that it’s best to go for the Baroque as the German Style can confuse beginners. And for beginners, it’s best to learn from a soprano recorder.
If anything, it’s a little difficult but the good news is that people can find tutorial videos and guides online.
The CNBLUE Soprano Recorder (German Style) does feel cheap compared to the hardwood recorders I have used. But if anything, it’s under $8 and its inexpensive. So, if you want to give a recorder a try and to see if its for you, for the price, it’s something you may want to try considering it’s quite cheap.
