For today’s review, I am trying out the Fluval Bug Bites Fish Food with Spirulina, Flakes for Small to Medium Sized Fish.
Fluval is a well-known company when it comes to fish owners but what is Spirulina?
Spirulina is an organism which grows in both fresh and saltwater. It’s a type of cyanobacteria which is often referred as blue-green algae.
What’s interesting is that it was consumed by ancient aztecs and even was tested to grow in space by NASA.
So, it’s considered an excellent and nutritious food to for humans but also for fish. What they do for this fish food, especially for their Bug Bites is that they are prepared in small batches for superior and offer maxium freshness.
It has high quality protein, a rich source of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids and the #1 ingredient is black soldier fly larvae and more. Black Soldier Fly Larvae is often used to convert waste into animal feed.
But overall, what I like about it is that it’s offered for under $4 (for a .63 oz container, which is the normal sized, smaller container compared to other competitors fish flakes), much cheaper than other brands of Spirulina which can cost up to over $15 for a small container.
So, for the price and the quality at under $4, the Fluval Bug Bites Fish Food with Spirulina is highly recommended!
