The One about the Great Basin Coffee Company’s Medium Roast Great Basin Blend Fresh Whole Bean Coffee

Great Basin Coffee is a company located in Provo, Utah and a company owned by naturist/vegan Alex Kopelson and former Wildland Firefighter, Mike Cunniff.

Both men who love the outdoors decided to create a coffee company, Great Basin Coffee and roasted their own coffee beans.

And now, I’m giving the Great Basin Coffee Company a try with their Medium Roast “Great Basin Blend” ala whole bean. The coffee utilizes specialty grade arabica coffee beans from Colombia, Brazil, & India for a well balanced flavor profile.

While I’m a person who is not a blend type of guy, I’m always open to it and if anything, I’m open to wonderful coffee (for those who are familiar with my coffee reviews, I drink a different coffee each day).

The company roasts in small batches and ships to Amazon weekly to ensure the freshest coffee as possible and my feelings of the coffee that stands out is its Earthy, fruit notes.

Fuller-bodied, less acidic than what would come from a medium roast (if compared to Central American coffee beans) and a pleasant earthy, fruity and lighter flavor.

Colombian beans tends to have fruit tones, I’m not sure where the Brazilian coffee was sourced but while Colombia tends to go for a washed-processing and Brazilian beans is typically ran through dry-processing (estates are more semi-dry).  But I can’t pinpoint the variety but I will say that these three coffee beans offer an interesting blend.  I’m not sure where the Indian coffee beans are sourced but India tends to use both dry and wet processing.  India coffee tends to be less acidic and sweet.

So, the blend of these two South America coffee beans with Indian coffee beans is rather interesting, yet pleasant.  I found the taste to be a delightful combination and those looking for coffee less acidic will want to give the Great Basin Coffee Company’s Medium Roast Great Basin Blend Fresh Whole Bean Coffee a try.
