The One about “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” Part 4: My Current Villagers

As I talked about the villagers I started with in part 3 of my blog, in part 4, I’ll talk about the villagers I currently have in my island “Ikebukuro” on “Animal Crossing: New Horizons”.

First, I like having positive characters in my island and some who may be exceptions…but here are my thoughts on these characters.

Reneigh:  Reneigh is probably the most positive character on the island.  With her sisterly personality, she is one that befriends everyone, gives them positive vibes, gives them medicine when sick and is always upbeat.   She is the one person which villagers like to talk about in a positive way and there is no way I am letting this character go.

Chevre:  Chevre is a normal personality goat character.  But she is probably the kindest, shyest of any of my characters.  She’s the character that is often depressed, all by herself, but she loves to sing and she also can be seen cleaning a lot in the village.  She’s a cool character and no way I’m letting this character go.

Norma: Norma is another normal personality character.  For this pink cow, at first I found the character to be kind but also yet boring and wanted to get rid of her.  But then I saw one thing that this character does that the others don’t really do so much, she is often watering all the flowers in the island.  I remember in the past “Animal Crossing” games, if you didn’t water the flowers, they could die.  To have a character spending so much time doing an important job on the island, that’s pretty positive.  Like Chevre, she seems to be a loner.

Gaston: A character that I may let go.  No matter how many wallpaper or flooring, chairs or tables which I give him, this cranky cat likes to live frugal.  Cardboard boxes as a table, dilapidated walls, but yet he’s happy.  He’s not as cranky as I thought but he’s like a grandpa character.  He doesn’t give you anything special, he’s also a loner, but he’s always content reading books and you treat the character respect, he’s quite cool. He’s also a character that will wear any shirt/jacket you give him.

UPDATE:

I just got rid of Gaston and now have this mechanical ostrich named Sprocket (in Japan, his name is Hertz).  Looks mean.  What’s sad is that the person that came to my camp before was Lyman the koala, which I’ve read, many people didn’t like.  So, I didn’t talk to him and next thing you know, the property sold and when I checked of who moved to the village, it wasn’t Lyman… it was Sprocket.  After ridding of Billy the goat (jock), I avoided Lyman the koala (jock) and get Sprocket another jock.

At first, I avoided Sprocket by not speaking to him.  But then  I started to feel bad for this robotic ostrich.  He sings by himself, not with anyone else.  He actually is quite kind. But despite his jock like personality, he’s like a loner that no one wants to befriend.  So, I didn’t like that…I befriended him and he’s turning out to be cool.

Maelle is turning out to be one of my favorite Animal Crossing characters.  For one, I love the fact that this snooty personality duck has a Louise Brooks bob hairstyle with the full bangs, she’s like a 1920’s Flapper-style character.  She has knowledge, she is actually quite kind and complimentary towards fashion and there is no way I’m letting this character go.

Puck: Puck is a penguin that is not so bright.  Always hungry, makes you laugh.  His room is full of ice and he’s always interesting to see in the game.  Considering he is a lazy personality penguin.

Spike: Spike is a orange rhino who often calls you “punk” and has that huge scar on his face.  I expected this cranky character to be the character I would dislike the most but despite the looks, similar to Norma, he is often helpful and watering the flowers.  He also has a caring side and no doubt cares for his neighbor, Reneigh.  Also, a character who will wear any top.

UPDATE: I decided to say goodbye to Spike and this time I welcomed the Japanese kangaroo, Walt.  Similar to Spike, he also has a scar.  But while cranky, he has a zen like attitude.  Haven’t seen him around my village that much.  But I do want his tanuki statue.

Like Puck, Jacob is lazy.  But he also is seen talking with others and probably one of the cooler male characters in the game.  He’s also a character that tends to greet you, always kind and I debate back and forth of whether or not to keep him.  But I do like his cheerful personality.

UPDATE: Mint visited my campsite and when she wanted to move to my island, Ikebukuro, the person that had to go was Jacob.  As much as I liked Jacob’s character, his kindness and naivety, he was just too darn lazy.

Flora is a peppy ostrich. Often positive, often talking as if she’s a pop star.  The character is also quite positive and while I do debate whether or not I want her to stay, she is often the only character you will see walking around late a night.

Raymond.  He has been voted in the top tier at #1.  I got lucky getting this cat…first day, all the villagers ignored him, by the second day, he and a few others have been singing.  He seems to like music, he seems to also like to crossdress, often changing from suits to black dresses.
