I have used a lot of SKLZ golf products over the years and with their SKLZ Home Golf Driving Range Kit, this has beneficial for me during the stay at home orders and practice my golf in the back yard during this time.
The kit comes with a 7-foot practice net, 12 limited flight impact golf balls, launch pad and two rubber tees.
If anything, I have tested several practice nets and there are nets that are made for real golf balls and others for practice rubber/plastic golf balls.
I am a power hitter and because of the safety of the homes near me, I would rather not use real golf balls on this net as it’s not strong as my other hard nets that I’ve used for golfing.
Now I do like the net for the basics, up close chipping and driving with the balls that it came with and balls that I have purchased long ago for practice.
But while the net and the launch pad worked well, I have to say this net was probably not the easiest to put together.
Most golf nets, I can put it together within a few minutes, this one, I was afraid of bending the poles to fit but the L-Connector, what a pain.
It took less than an hour to put together but other nets have taken me less than 10 minutes, probably around five minutes.
I do feel that this net is best used for the plastic practice balls it came with. I am not confident that this will hold up overtime, if I keep hitting the balls that I do with power. I don’t want to have to adjust to a lighter swing in fear of a ball hooking or slicing or missing the net and breaking a window or hurting someone, so I keep to the balls that were intended for this net and do not use real golf balls.
But I feel that I need to be closer to the net to avoid losing balls. So, if you are going to use this for practicing, get set of limited flight golf balls, just in case.
For those who want to use real golf balls, there are sturdier products much better for that. For those who want to practice, in their back yard or area and are cool with limited flight golf balls, then give the SKLZ Home Golf Driving Range Kit a try!
