The One about Hanami – Part 3 (What to bring?)

When going to a hanami, you will want to bring drinks, food and if you want, games.

If anything, buy extra food and drinks because if you are in a circle with others, some may not know and do not bring anything.  And the last thing you want is seeing people in your circle bummed out because they didn’t know or forgot.

For me, I’m probably one of the most generous people when it comes to hanami.

I tend to have big circles and when people are well-fed, it’s all good and there are those who feel the same way, that we all chip in and buy a lot to make sure people are fed with snacks.  Sometimes I go to Family Mart and order a lot of chicken and also go to Gindaco for takoyaki.

No one usually does this, they buy their chips and a drink but I do it as I’ve been to hanami, and as mentioned, so many people don’t know what to bring, that the come empty handed.

Granted, you don’t have to go all out like I do. But it’s good to bring snacks enough for you and your circle and a few drinks just in case.

And last, I bring a towel or wipes.  They’ll come in handy.  Spills happen, no one has a towel, napkins or anything to wipe the spill.  So, I tend to keep one in my back pack.

But overall, part of the fun of hanami is enjoying things together.  Which leads to another major point which I will bring up in part 4!
