I actually had this blog post on pause.
For one, I wanted to see who had the best chicken sandwich between Chick-fil-A vs. Popeyes.
Let me first say that it’s all subjective to the person eating it.
But having eaten both, here is my personal feeling.
Chick-fil-A
It’s a tasty, clean chicken sandwich, delicious chicken, comes with lettuce and tomato and the presentation is much cleaner and it doesn’t take so long to get a sandwich.
Delicious!
Popeyes
Thick piece of Popeye’s chicken with a slight kick. Bread, cheese, chicken, special sauce?, pickles and it’s also delicious.
Messy, but I remember when Carl’s Jr. used to do those sexy, messy burger commercials which people loved. And I’m sure Popeye’s fans will love.
It was a long wait since August for Popeye’s to start making them again. I was surprised it took so long but at $4 per sandwich, I know Popeye’s has its legion of fans who love their chicken.
JUDGMENT CALL:
Again, this is all subjective. Both are good in their own way. Both have their own style of presentation, clean vs. messy. One can wait five minutes, while another can wait more than half an hour to order.
There is no doubt that Popeyes has the edge in hype and people are lining up to get one. Was it worth the hype? Yeah, it was.
While Chik-fil-A, their sandwich has been around for a long time and there are no long lines, it makes you feel much healthier eating it.
But while both are delicious… My pick for best chicken sandwich between the two…
