The auctions at the fish market begin at 5:30 a.m., but for those who are there still early in the morning, you can still see a lot of the tuna on display and it’s interesting to see how huge maguro is.
Let’s check things out:
Learn about Teyari hand gestures during the auction.
You get to see through the large windows, where you can take pictures.
It’s a big difference when compared to the Tsukiji Fish Market, when people were on the floor and can see things closeup. But again, while I understand why things are separated and providing adequate space between those who work and those who are watching and taking photos, it just feels different now at Toyosu Fish Market.
Right across from the fish market is another building which is the Toyosu Market – Fruit and Vegetable Market.
Similar to the fish market, there are large windows where you can see people dealing with fruits and vegetables for buyers.
Next up, we’ll check out the rooftop terrace at Toyosu Fish Market.
