The One about Juliana McCarthy and Alejandro Cardenas’ Book “The Stars Within You: A Modern Guide to Astrology”

I’m going to be truthful, that when it comes to astrology, I’m one of those people, since I was a teenager, who would read about our horoscope and think “Wow! This is happening to me right now!”.

And there have been many times when I have met people who are into astrology and would say, “I know why you do things this way.  Why you think this way.  It’s because you’re a Libra”.

Of course, I understood it and thought it was cool to hear such things, but at the same time, it was not something I wanted to think about so much at the the time, because frankly, can one’s sign really determine how we are and how we behave?

Rubbish?  Or is there something to it?

I have been wanting to read a book about astrology, and see if what I read actually has any validity to how I behave?

And so, I started reading Juliana McCarthy and Alejandro Cardenas’ Book “The Stars Within You: A Modern Guide to Astrology”.

The book begins with “The Signs” and looking mine up, a Libra’s ruling planet is Venus (the planet of love and beauty), symbol is the scales, main description is romantic/indecisive, duality is masculine, element is air, quality is Cardinal, keyword is “I BALANCE”, attributes are fair, collaborative, tasteful, indecisive, tactful and refined, while interests are “romance, music concerts, museums, songwriting, making art” and their drive is to love and be loved.

According to the book, “Libra produces aestheticallure in all he touches, inspiring balance and serenity in artistic endeavors, relationships and social gatherings.  He is most likely to come home with exquisite flowers, decorate his home with sensitivity and flair and whisper sweet nothings to those he loves”.

So, let’s see…is it true?

Am I indecisive?  Yes.  It’s a part of me that I struggle with because there are times when I want to wear certain clothes and when I’m ready to go out the door, I tell myself, no, change out of it.  When there are times when I want to go someplace, I struggle if I want to or not.   So, yes, I can be indecisive.  Check.

Do I enjoy music concerts?  Oh wait, who is front and center at these concert performances?  Check.

Do I enjoy music?  Considering I have written so much about music…I think that is a given.  Check.

Do I enjoy museums?  Search or Google my name and museums…yes.  Check!

Do I create art?  Check.

And a Libra’s drive is to love and be loved.  Do I feel that way?

I often feel I put myself second and everyone first at times. While I’m not sure it’s my drive…I do put myself in predicaments where I think that may be the case.  Check!

The book also says that a Libra demonstrates his diplomacy, elegance and grace, enveloping friends and partners in magnanimity and appreciation.  Also, that he can delicately stand up for what is right, balancing whatever is unjust or off-kilter.

Yes, this is me… Check!

From descriptions of the Sun, Moon, Ascendants and various planets on Libra’s, there are a lot of things mention that literally describes how I behave towards myself and others.  I do feel the need of equilibrium, trying to understand both sides and also going against popular opinion as well.

I like how I read about the Libra ascendant of how a Libra harmonizes a room as soon as they enter it, noticing energies that are off-balance and restoring them to equilibrium.  I tend to be that kind of person, so that’s another…Check!

OK, so there is so much in this book, especially reading sections about Libra’s and also signs of other people I know that I found many things in Juliana McCarthy and Alejandro Cardenas’ Book “The Stars Within You: A Modern Guide to Astrology” on point.

Personally, I do feel that anyone interested in astrology and learning more about their sign, will benefit from reading The Stars Within You: A Modern Guide to Astrology”. I don’t actually fully comprehend it just yet, as I do get blown away of how accurate some of these astrology readings really are.  Granted, there is another side that wants to be skeptical and to see things from both sides.  So, I’m indecisive about that as well (the life of a Libra).

Nevertheless, I do enjoy this book a lot and I do recommend it!
