Back in 2015, LEGO formed a partnership with three automobile manufacturers: Ferarri, McLaren and Porsche to create popular vehicles made out of LEGO’s.
The line would be known as LEGO Speed Champions and so popular the line, we saw LEGO also working with other major companies.
And since then, LEGO has went full force with awesome releases. And in 2019, another awesome McLaren, this time the Senna.
LEGO has already created a full size McLaren Senna LEGO build, and exciting that was, for enthusiast of the LEGO SPEED CHAMPIONS” line, to get a release of the McLaren Senna is fantastic.
Back in 2018, McLaren only produced 500 of the actual cars, all were sold and this was the latest in their Ultimate Series replacing the P1.
It’s one of their fastest cars and every review I have read is how light and awesome this car truly is.
Of course, I can never own one but I can at least own a LEGO version!
The miniature features similar to other LEGO SPEED CHAMPIONS minifigures with the race track suit (gray/orange and black), black helmet and the minifigure comes with a black wrench (no trophy).
The car itself is a wonderful build and the gray, black and orange accents really make this car standout. In fact, it’s one of my favorite LEGO SPEED CHAMPIONS builds to date. The cockpit can open and the minifigure can ride inside.
The build is not too difficult for children over 7 to build and works great as a family project.
And typically, I like to speed time myself in creating a vehicle but for this one, I was amazed of the bricks used that each time I put one part together and wondered, what is their plan for this? And you realize that once you add it to the actual car, the way it was designed makes perfect sense.
An attractive car and fun to build!
Good-sized compartment for the minifigure and the canopy easily snaps in and also is easy to remove.
And while I’m a person who tends to have a disdain of using LEGO stickers, these McLaren, Senna and Pirelli stickers definitely make the car look so cool.
The car also comes with interchangeable car rims as well.
And thrown in for fun is the addition of the wind tunnel, which was another fun accessory to have!
Overall, it’s another impressive LEGO SPEED CHAMPIONS release!
Great quality, inexpensive, not difficult to build and for its price, the LEGO Speed Champions McLaren Senna is definitely worth owning!
