While I wasn’t able to stay to the end of the acosta! event, just the 2.5 hours (and another hour in line), I have to say that acosta! was a fascinating experience for cosplayers and photographers that are passionate, can all be together, meet each other or showcase one’s outfit and learn tips from other cosplayers.
There was no division of popular cosplayer or newbie, there were no professional cosplayers selling merchandise, it was merely a large event to celebrate cosplaying and be among peers, learning from other cosplayers, meeting cosplayers that you respect or have influenced you or simply having fun.
This goes the same for photographers as I saw other photographers wanting to meet other photographers and look at their gear and if anything, it’s a perfect event for cosplayers and cosplay photographers to come together.
So, what advice do I have to those who cosplay or are cosplay photographers? Get their early, especially if you want to use the backdrop but most importantly, you don’t have to stay in the line for a long time and enjoy the experience, meet new people and have fun!
