The One about BEAMS AT HOME 4 and TOKYO CULTuART by BEAMS in Shibuya

When it comes to books on Japanese approach on designing their homes, some very small to some very big, there’s one thing that I really appreciate and that is how many are able to fit and organize their livelihood in such a small space, especially compared to how some people are in the west.

I’m guilty when it comes to being a packrat, to the point that I have had to follow Kondo Mari’s advice on organization and doing what I need to be satisfied with myself, because to put in plainly…I have too much.

But in Japan, there are books about how professionals and just people out there live and how they make the best of their livingspace.

And my favorite is from clothing brand, BEAMS who have released books showcasing people’s homes and living spaces titled “BEAMS at HOME 4” and for prized items and lifestyle there is “BEAMS of LIFE”.

BEAMS has released various books and even one is available on US Amazon Stores (BEAMS – beyond TOKYO) but most of the books you will need to purchase via Amazon Japan or at the BEAMS store in Shibuya.

The latest book volume is “BEAMS AT HOME 4” (which was released in Dec. 2018) continuing to showcase the homes and living spaces of families, people who live alone or with their partners. And also hardcore collectors who manage to live within their means and shelfspace.

And also how others have added plants to their living space for oxygen and also to put some color in their rooms.

But most importantly, giving people ideas on how to decorate their rooms/homes, no matter how small or big it is.

As for BEAMS, there are numerous BEAMS store in Japan and I have blogged about a few of them.   But for those looking of where you can purchase the books cheaply, I would head to Shibuya.  The first two floors are clothing shops but the third floor is where you want to go!

On the third floor you will find the TOKYO CULTuART by BEAMS

And inside, you will find a lot of art and other things that people may want to decorate their homes.  But also a place where many artists have exhibitions.

Overall, I do recommend the BEAMS at HOME and BEAMS at LIFE books and if you happen to be in Shibuya, definitely visit TOKYO CULTuART by BEAMS!
