One of the most difficult things about trying to time your trip to Japan during the cherry blossom time is when to go. Most people travel for the week, some for two. While the rule of thumb is last week of March to the first two weeks of April are safe, weatherman Masuda Masaaki tweeted that the forecast will be blooming early around March 23rd in some areas, while other areas around March 30th. Northern regions throughout April.

I have been there during the season but when it came late. While plum blossoms were out in full force, cherry blossoms were just sprouting by the time I was leaving.
So, this time around, I decided to skip my October/December visits to Japan (my best time to go), to give Cherry Blossom season another try! I will be in Japan this time for nearly a month to make sure I don’t miss anything!
