In my effort to visit all NPB stadiums and official team stores, I went to KFC Hanshin Koshien Stadium and in front of the stadium (about a 100-150 yards away) is the team’s Team Shop Alps store.
For those who never been to an NPB stadium, typically you have an official team store which is located not at the stadium but close to it. While at the stadium, you’ll find shops that cater to all NPB teams.
For Koshien Stadium, they have a large shop featuring merchandise for all teams, another smaller shop, the Museum of Hanshin Koshien and more!
But before you go to the stadium, across the street is the Hanshin Tigers Team Shop Alps which features only Hanshin Tigers merchandise and I have to say, the store offers quite a bit for Hanshin Tigers fan and the prices during the holidays were impressive. Jerseys on sale for a 1000 yen (granted, small large and medium – Japan size) to other merchandise dropped to Y500. It seems my experience with Hanshin Tigers stores are awesome sales and that’s great for fans!
Granted, if you are a hat fan like myself, those are probably the only things that never go on sale.
The Hanshin Tiger team store is no doubt the largest official team shop that I have been to and has the most merchandise.
You would think that the Yomiuri Giants would have something as big, but the Yomiuri Giants official team stores are quite small in comparison.
For the hat fans, the team store also has a plethora of different hats, including New Era hats.
But the amount of merchandise, the amount of snacks to other food (I saw a lady purchasing a lot of Hanshin Tigers curry) and the insane sales (I went before Christmas, so either it was a Christmas sale or year end sale to get rid of older merchandise, especially of players who may no longer be with the team, or sizes they had too much overstock) was impressive.
If you plan to visit KFC Hanshin Koshien Stadium, definitely visit the Hanshin Tigers Team Shop Alps!
