The One about VenusFort in Odaiba

Located in Odaiba in the Pallette Town area is a shopping mall known as VenusFort.

The mall has been called a “Theme park for women” and the mall is operated now by Mori Bulding.

VenusFort opened back on August 25, 1999 and is located on the second floor (known as Venus GRAND) and the third floor (known as Venus OUTLET) of Palette Town’s West Mall Building area and some have compared it to Las Vegas’ The Venetian because of its European feel.

Inside the mall, the design is similar to European streets from the 17th and 18th century and inside are 160 stores that deal with fashion, cosmetics, misc. goods and restaurants.  In the center is a ceiling that can incorporate clouds, skies, stars and changes within the time of the day.

In 2006, the location incorporated the first floor and became a commercial facility where people can take their pets and was called “Venus Family”.

In 2010, it was announced that the lease contract for Pallette Town and VenusFort would end in June and the area was to be closed, dismantled and removed and a Ferris Wheel, Mori Building and Toyota Mega Web would be added in 2013.

But the decision to spare both Pallette Town and Venus Fort continues as changes in the economy, social conditions and sales keep both establishments in the area for the time being.
