Fossil is a brand that is well-known. In the past, they were the go to for stainless steel watches, to watches with cool, varying digital interface and here we are today where the parent company now owns FOSSIL and many other watch brands.
As for FOSSIL, it’s an established brand and also an affordable brand but yet retains its stylish ways without having to go a route that would cheapen the brand.
If there is one thing with FOSSIL, you get a stylish watch.
And here I am with another FOSSIL watch review for the Fossil Men’s ‘Gage’ Quartz Stainless Steel Casual Watch.
I have to say that this watch looks as if it was built like a tank with its Gunmetal dark gray and light grey markers and numbers and the thickness of its case.
Featuring a 50mm case with a thickness of 14mm and a 24mm stainless steel strap, the watch features a Quartz chronograph with a water resistance of 50m (165 ft.). As always, I don’t recommend submerging any dress watch in water or a shower, as I’ve reviewed many watches over the years to see some run into water damage.
Changing the time and date is simple by pulling out the crown all the way (for time) and halfway for date. It would been nice to have a screwdown crown but it’s all good.
Chronograph works as expected and the two buttons (above and below the center crown) can easily start and stop and making the hand return to its original position. A function for those who want a stopwatch function on a display watch.
It’s important to note that there is no luminosity and because the hands are dark gray, it would be a watch that would prove to be difficult to see in dark conditions. No glow in the dark luminous areas on the watch.
As for the rear of the watch, as usual with FOSSIL watches, grooves on the outside that is easy to remove via a watch tool and batteries are easy to change out.
The watch fit me but there is a little space, so the watch case does fall on my wrist a bit. Removing one link from the bracelet would make the bracelet too tight for my wrist, so I’m considering of using a black NATO strap for a better fit.
Overall, this is a cool, stylish watch from FOSSIL. I like the gunmetal dark gray and the light gray of the numbering and minute marks. The Chronograph is a cool touch but you need quite a bit of light because gray on dark gray can be tough for a few people to see.
The Fossil Men’s ‘Gage’ Quartz Stainless Steel Casual Watch is recommended!
