The One about the Cressi Light Weight Premium Travel Snorkel Set (LAF version)

For those who have read my scuba dive mask and snorkel reviews, know I am very big on Cressi products.

And when it comes to dive masks, Cressi, which is made in Italy, are one of the best makers of dive masks and snorkeling gear.

For this review, I am reviewing the Cressi Light Weight Premium Travel Snorkel Set.

The Palau Bag Set includes the Cressi Palau Long Blade Snorkeling Fins, the Cressi Onda Mask and the Cressi SUPERNOVA DRY Snorkel.  The LAF refers to the longer fins, SAF to the shorter fins.

The Cressi Onda is a basic set and features 100% silicon skirt with tempered glass lenses. While Cressi masks tend to be simple and adjustable with their buckle system.

It’s important to note that the face mask will fog, so you will need a defogger such as the McNett Sea Drops Scuba and Snorkeling Mask Defog – 2-Pack.

The Cressi SUPERNOVA DRY Snorkel has a smooth bore tube with large, easy to clear, exhaust valve that keeps out water from wind and waves.

One of the big positives is that the buckle is easy to connect to your mask/goggles and is attached. So, know major messing around with the buckle, it’s quick, easy and buckles should be that simple when putting the mask on and separating.

Unlike the Cress Tao which has an opening on top, the dry top valve is sealed and instead has thin air slots similar to the Cressi SUPERNOVA DRY. At the other end is a large purge valve.

The flexible silicone portion is about 2.5-3 inches, it’s not to invasive and the silicone mouthpiece is replaceable.

It’s a well-built and definitely has that Cressi quality but I wouldn’t keep it out under hot weather too long, keep it in your snorkeling/scuba diving bag when not in use.

If you want a snorkel that stays dry, I recommend Cressi’s Adult Flexible Dry Snorkel with Dry Top Valve and Purge Bottom Valve | Alpha Ultra Dry made in Italy.

As for the fins, the set features the Cressi Palau fins.  As mentioned, SAF is for short and LAF is for longer blade fins.

If you want longer fins, you would want to get the Cressi Pluma (full foot) or for open heel, the Cressi Pro Light Open Heel Diving Fin.

If you wear a boot, open foot snorkeling fins are great especially in colder water. Closed food, no boots are needed and are lighter. Cressi’s Pluma Fins are their most popular.

With that being said, the Cressi Palau Fins are going to work great because they are lightweight and comfortable. Has a soft rubber center panel with thermoplastic stiffeners. Flexible siderails and great when flexing or kicking. And because they accommodate a variety of foot shapes, you can easily share with friends.

While Medium is for 8/10 and Large is 10-13 feet.

And last, you get a bag that comes with this set as well!

Overall, this is a fantastic set for those who want to get into snorkeling. You get the awesome Onda mask, really cool Gamma snorkel and the awesome Palau fins and the Cressi Quality!

And when you discover you. need something better, that’s one thing about snorkeling, you’ll often purchase new gear to suit your tastes.

But you can’t go wrong with this Cressi Light Weight Premium Travel Snorkel Set!
