The One about the Seac Frameless Scuba Snorkeling Freediving Mask Dry Snorkel Set

From SEAC comes the SEAC Frameless Scuba Snorkeling Freediving Mask Dry Snorkel Set.

I’m going to review each piece, one by one.

I. SNORKEL – Let’s start off with the SEAC’s Vortex snorkel. This is a basic side snorkel but it has a purge valve. This is very important for keeping water out when you go up out of the water. The snorkel has a large drain chamber and patented dry top technology. While there is a button clasp, it’s not one of the easiest to free open from your mask and that’s a good thing for those that want a snorkel that locks really well to your mask.

II. MASK – First, the good…this is a hypoallergenic silicon frameless mask and the instructions recommend to put on an anti-fog solution on the inner surface of the lens. mask is comfortable and the straps survived my stretch test, so that’s a plus. But these do fog up a lot, so definitely purchase an anti-fog solution if you intend to get this set.

III. Bag – The SEAC bag is small enough to hold your snorkel and mask. But not too durable as I was removing it from the velcro, part of the bag ripped. There are better bags to keep your snorkeling/scuba gear, so if you plan to add some fins, definitely look at bags with great ventilation and also for roominess and extra pockets!

But overall, the SEAC Frameless Scuba Snorkeling Freediving Mask Dry Snorkel Set is great for beginners. The thing is sets are offered for beginners for solid value and that’s perfectly fine.

And as for the mask, later down the line or if you want quality when you begin, you will want a mask like a Cressi. Quality mask, quality straps. So, I recommend this…Pano 4 (black-silver). Otherwise, know that while a mask does come with this set, it’s good for a basic mask. But if you enjoy scuba diving and want a better mask that will last you, definitely check out a Cressi Scuba mask.

I feel that anyone looking for a solid value and all-in-one set, for the price, SEAC offers a good set with a good snorkel and comfortable mask for beginners. But it’s a competitive market and for those who want to scuba dive even more or want better quality, I do recommend purchasing snorkeling equipment separately. And I do recommend the Cressi mask, fins and snorkel.

For those who just want to get out there and need the basics and don’t want to spend all that much, then the SEAC Frameless Scuba Snorkeling Snorkel/Mask Set is worth checking out!
