The One about Iwasaku Rei Sui in Nikko

Located near the Shinkyo Bridge are three scenic areas, two statues and one big rock that you’ll find people drinking from, it’s known as “Iwasaku Rei Sui”.

According to legend, over 1,200 years ago, when shrines were built for Nikko, the spring water from the mountain flowed and it had the reputation as the most delicious water in Japan.

They say the water of Otanigawa and Inari River which drips from a bamboo stalk is delicious and has a lot of iron.

For those who read my blog, you guys know me as a germaphobe and the brown stain in the rock where the water drips from kind of stayed in my mind a bit much, so I didn’t drink it.

But for those who have… is it the most delicious water you have drunk in Japan?  Did I miss out?  Please let me know.
