The One about ESSE DUE IL Binario in Haneda Airport

ESSE DUE is a pizzeria that was founded over two decades in Akasaka.

Focusing on Napoli pizza style showcasing Margherita to various original pizzas, ESSE DUE has opened up restaurants in Hakata and in Tokyo’s Ota ward at Haneda Airport.

While the Akasaka restaurant is the oldest and also features many items on their main menu, the Haneda Airport location is a convenient stop to eat hours before boarding your flight.

And the Haneda location is convenient for the fact that they sell various Italian food ala Pizza Rossa, Pizza Bianca, pasta, risotto, pesce, carne, antipasto freddo, antipasto caldo, stuzzichino and dolce.

I decided to give their Bismarck pizza a try.

A popular pizza in Italy which typically is a thin crust pizza with tomato sauce, prosciutto crudo, bacon and on top of the cheese are sunny-side-up eggs.

And eating a Bismarck Pizza at ESSE DUE IL Binario at Haneda Airport was absolutely awesome.  The pizza was delicious and furthered my belief that egg dishes in Japan or anything with egg on dishes typically not seen in the United States is wonderful.

Some people may find it weird to have a pizza with eggs on top but for those who eat a bacon egg mcmuffin at McDonalds and love sunny-side-up-eggs, should no doubt be open to trying a Bismarck pizza dish.

The restaurant was clean, customer service was very good and as a destination among the many restaurants at Haneda Airport definitely made this the better of the pizza places I had eaten at an airport and even bests the pizza restaurant I ate at Narita Airport.

Some may be turned off by the pizza prices as a small pizza is the price of what American restaurants would charge for a large but in other countries, pizza is expensive and if you are accustomed to Little Caesar $5 large pizzas, you’re not going to find a pizza that cheap in Japan Y1400-Y2000 is the norm.

Overall, ESSE DUE IL Binario is a restaurant in Haneda Airport worth checking out.  Especially if you want something different to try before departing Japan.
