The Lucerne Hotel in Lemoore, California. Built in 1895 and is believed to be the oldest continually occupied commercial building in the small city.  And a building that was once considered long ago as one of the city’s social centers.

If there is one thing about Lemoore, California, it’s their continuing support for businesses in the downtown area.

Where many cities have a huge department store that has led to the closures of small businesses, Lemoore has only one, while those other big stores are North in Fresno, East in Hanford or Visalia and for the most part, one of the few cities that has the small town feel.

While the Lucerne is a building that one can look at and see its New Orleans influence, for those traveling to the area, the interior of the location is not one would want to venture as it is utilized as occupied apartment rental for low-income living in the downtown area.

But for those visiting the area and are wanting to take part in the Downtown Lemoore Historical Walking Tour, the Lucerne Hotel is the second oldest building in the city and worth visiting if you are interested in pre-1900 architecture in California.
