The One about the Meal Prepping

I started to prepare my own meal pres on Sundays.

While I have been doing well with weight loss, I wanted to have more control with what I was eating and knowing how much or when to stop.  And so I decided to go with containers.

I know there are special containers available that are color coordinated for other diets, for me, it was staying strict to containers and also staying within a budget.

I purchased a 18-piece Rubbermaid Plastic Easy Find Lid food Storage set for $7.99 and then purchased about five 3-cup Rubbermaid containers (I wanted six but the store had only five) for $1.99

This is how my typical day is with eating and drinking:

7:00 – I drink 9 oz. of water (a water bottle) and take my multi-vitamins.  I prepare my smoothie and get everything I need to eat packed away for work.

8:00 – I drink the smoothie I prepared in the morning which consists of two strawberries, a few blueberries, a few banana slices, two small squares of mango, Chia seeds and ice.    The fruit I purchased frozen and I use a Ninja Professional Blender (the one that comes with two blending cups).

9:00-10:00 – I eat a Greek Yogurt, string cheese or four slices of cheese.

10:00 – I drink a metamucil fiber drink with one bottle of water.

10:30-11:30 – I eat a boiled egg and around 8-10 edamame beans.

LUNCH:  I eat the food I prepared in my 3-cup container.  I make sure there is a balance of greens and chicken, fish, etc.  In the pictures, it’s salad with baked chicken and I like to use low-fat mediterranean feta cheese.  And I drink another water bottle.

3:00 P.M.: I drink a Protein Isolate shake using on bottle of water.  Right now I am using two kinds of Whey Protein Isolate and Soy Protein drinks.

Right now I am drinking Six Star Elite Series Whey Isolate or GNC Pro Protein 100% Isolate because I want the most protein, I do not want to bulk up and I do not want anything with lactose (or very low percentage of it).  I alternate with the isolate and Six Star Elite Series Soy Protein.

5:30: I drink another bottled water during dinner.

NIGHT: I rarely snack, but if I do, it’s either edamame beans or a tablespoon of cottage cheese.  If it’s a sweet tooth, I try one tablespoon of Halo Top.  But I try to drink more bottles of water through the afternoon and early afternoon.

But that is how I do my meal preps.  I will continue to post more photos overtime.
